A Bit About Joshua

Joshua joined Moment at the very beginning, bringing a practical mindset, a collaborative approach, and a solid foundation in hands-on structural design. Raised in the Hutt Valley and now based in Christchurch, he’s worked across the South Island and maintains a keen interest in projects around Wellington—home territory he knows well.

Engineering wasn't always the plan for Josh—he initially pursued accounting, completing two years of study before making the switch. But with a strong aptitude for maths and a lifelong love of building things, engineering quickly proved to be the right fit. He graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2018 and began his career at Aurecon before moving to GHD and later joining Moment. Along the way, he completed a semester abroad in Canada, which helped spark his interest in international practice. An avid adventurer, Josh completed the Coast to Coast multisport race and recently spent time backpacking through Central America—experiences that have shaped his broad perspective and grounded approach to engineering.

Josh thrives on responsibility, communication, and delivering high-quality outcomes. Whether it's a one-off deck inspection or a complex seismic upgrade, he brings a thoughtful, experienced perspective to every job. If you're after an engineer who listens first, speaks plainly, and delivers what’s needed, get in touch.
