A Bit About Tom
Tom always wanted to be a furniture maker, and that crafting streak has never left him. Engineering turned out to be the bigger workshop. He graduated from UC in 2013 and started out on site with Fletcher Construction, working on the Waterview Tunnel in Auckland and the civil repairs here in Christchurch. Concrete pours of up to 200 m³ are a good education in getting the details right.
From there Tom moved into consulting. He designed houses and apartment blocks in Auckland before coming home to Ōtautahi, where the Bosma name will be familiar to plenty of people. Since then he’s worked on everything from small alterations to high-end architectural homes on the Port Hills, along with TC2/TC3 foundations, earthquake repairs and strengthening.
With more than ten years of experience, Tom has joined Moment to strengthen our residential team and help build the business. He’s focused on house alterations and new builds, leaving the messy shop fitouts to Wayne. He brings the same care to a new beam or foundation as he would to a piece of furniture: get the details right and it’ll last.
At home, Tom is kept busy by his two young daughters, which is excellent training for clear communication and staying calm under load.
If you’re planning an alteration or building new, Tom would love to hear about it. Have a look at our services and projects, or give him a call.
